What are the V-Conferences and Symposia and how do they operate?

V-Conference and Symposia are very affordable, flexible and modern form of conferencing, which allows savings of both time and money without compromising on the scientific merit of the publications.

The notion behind the organisation of the V-Conferences and Symposia is to create a forum for a global exchange of ideas and results by utilising the benefits of the modern communications technologies.

T
he process of manuscripts selection follows a standard procedure:

 - First announcement and call for extended abstracts;
 - Abstract submission and preliminary screening process;
 - Abstract acceptance and call for submission of manuscripts;
 - Registration, manuscript submission and peer-review process;
 - Manuscript acceptance and revision process;
 - Final manuscript acceptance and publication in proceedings.
Note: Steps 4 and 5 are valid for these author(s) who require peer review of their manuscripts.

However, after the registration, each of the manuscripts is uploaded to a specially designed online platform, where it participates in Online Direct Discussion Sessions (ODDS).  These sessions are opened to all registered participants and they are intended to provide a place for communications and free exchange of ideas.  The aim is to provide productive feedback to the author(s) of the manuscripts and to allow establishing useful personal and business connections between engineers and scientists from all over the world.

Main Page of the Online Direct Discussion Sessions (ODDS):

Participation in ODDS does not require the physical presence of the author(s) at the conference venue.  For this reason, the conferences with virtual participation are:

 - truly affordable
, allowing many scientists and engineers to join the event without spending significant parts of their research funds on visas, expensive airfares and accommodation;

 - time saving - participation in this type of conferences saves time to many scientists and engineers who are too busy engaged in their research and administrative commitments
.

There are no doubts that these precious resources could be better spent!

At the same time, the V-Conferences and Symposia provide the same benefits to the participants as the conferences that require the physical presence of the attendants.  These benefits include:

 - Publication of scientific results in peer reviewed proceedings of a large international conference with thousands of participants;

 - Participation in discussions with many colleagues from around the world.

In fact, presenting scientific and engineering outcomes at V-Conferences and Symposia provide much better opportunities for communication:

 - Participants in the V-Conferences and Symposia are able to attend all presentations of interest:
It often happens at other large conferences that it is physically impossible to attend interesting presentations because they are presented at the same time but in different sessions;

 - Participants in the V-Conferences and Symposia have sufficient time for a thorough study of the presented materials, which in turns, improves the quality of the feedback provided to the author(s);

 - At the other end, the author(s) have sufficient time to prepare their response to the critical remarks;

 - Last, but not least, presenting authors do not have to physically stand and talk in front of a large audience, which could quite often be a stressful experience even for those of the scholars who can fluently speak English.
